Crystal River Clear Kayak Tour - Three Sisters Springs - Manatees & More

Experience the magic of Crystal River from a completely new perspective on this guided clear kayak tour through Kings Bay and the surrounding springs. With 100% transparent kayaks, you’ll be able to see the underwater world beneath you as you paddle through crystal-clear waters teeming with life. This beginner to intermediate paddle takes you through some of Crystal River’s most beautiful spring areas, including spots like Hunter Spring, Jurassic Spring, House Spring, and more.

Depending on the season, this tour offers the chance to passively observe manatees during winter months (November 15–March 31) or explore vibrant springs and warm clear waters from April 1–November 14. Crystal River is home to resident manatee year-round, as well as dolphins, turtles, fish, diverse birdlife, and stunning spring ecosystems. With small group sizes and knowledgeable guides, this experience blends outdoor adventure with education, wildlife appreciation, and local insight.

Weight limit: 425 lbs per tandem kayak and no more than 250 lbs per seat
We require children 30 pounds or under to bring their own Coast Guard approved life jacket as the size is very specific and safety is of utmost importance.
We require one adult per child under age 11.
All kayaks are tandem
Pets are allowed as long as weight limits are not exceeded
Alcohol is prohibited

How big are the groups?

Our fleet is small (5 kayaks) so expect an exclusive experience (no more than 10 people at a time).

What skill level is needed for kayaking?

This is a beginner paddle, so you do not need prior experience!

Is it appropriate to give a tip/gratuity to our tour guide?

Tips are greatly appreciated. Our guides work very hard to provide all guests with an unforgettable memory! Standard US gratuity is 20%!

Are the kayaks tandem or solo?

Each of our kayaks are tandem (made for 2 paddlers). However, the seats are removable and if you have an odd number of paddlers in your party we are able to accommodate the kayak as a single. Keep in mind, the same 250 pound PER person weight limit still applies even if taking a kayak out as a single.

Are pets or alcohol allowed on tours?

Unfortunately no. We don't allow pets on this tour, and alcohol is not allowed.

Feel free to bring along some non-alcoholic beers and refreshments!

Do we actually paddle inside Three Sisters Springs?

Access to Three Sisters Springs varies based on season, wildlife protections, and refuge regulations. Some areas may be off-limits or restricted at times to protect manatees. Please confirm current access when booking.

Is the water cold?

Crystal River springs stay around 72°F year-round, but air temperature and season can change comfort levels. Dressing appropriately is recommended.

Can we touch or approach manatees?

No—interaction with wildlife is strictly regulated. Viewing must always be passive and respectful. Guides will explain proper wildlife etiquette.

What time of day is best for wildlife viewing?

Wildlife activity varies by season and conditions. Winter generally has higher manatee concentration, but sightings are never guaranteed.

Do tours still run during Manatee Sanctuary closures?

Yes, but certain areas (like parts of Three Sisters) may be off-limits. The experience remains scenic and wildlife-rich even when sanctuaries are active.
