Wildlife Guidelines

Please be respectful of the fact that coral is a living organism and any standing, touching, or knocking over will irreparably damage the organism that takes a very long time to grow and is essential to our marine reefs. Please also be respectful of any marine animals including but not limited to turtles, rays, sharks, seals, and dolphins. Please never chase, harass, feed, or TOUCH any of the marine species. Enjoy their company if they approach from a distance and calmly move away from them if in their path.

You are NOT allowed to touch the manta rays at any time. Our bacteria and viruses can harm these gentle giants. If a manta ray happens to bump into you, remain calm and stay still; they pose no threat to you and will swim away on their own. Your cooperation helps ensure the health and safety of these magical creatures. If guides see you intentionally trying to touch the manta rays by sticking a camera, hand, head, or your body at them, they reserve the right to immediately remove you from the tour and return you to the boat.

FAQs

Can I bring my pet or service animal onboard?

We love "furry" friends! For their safety, no animals or service animals are allowed aboard. Nearby PET MOTEL in Key Largo offers affordable boarding options.

Can you take more than 6 guests?

6 is the maximum (regardless of age, size or weight).

Will you take other people with us if we don’t have 6 people in our group?

Unlike large tour operators, you won't be sharing your trip with strangers. When you charter our boat, it is reserved just for you and those in your party in addition to your licensed captain.

Do I need to know how to swim?

Yes. For safety reasons, all guests entering the water should know how to swim. While life vests and flotation devices are available onboard, but being a confident swimmer is important for your comfort and overall safety.

What's included in our trip?

All trips include a spacious cooler with ice & bottled water. Complimentary reef-safe sunscreen & towels. A personal swim guide will enter the water and lead your tour if you wish.

What equipment is included in our snorkeling trip?

We supply all snorkeling equipment (mask, snorkel, fins and flotation devises).

Can we bring our own beverages and food?

Yes. We have a very spacious built-in cooler. If you bring alcoholic beverages, for your safety we allow these to be consumed after snorkeling activities are complete. During sandbar trips & sunset cruises, consumption of alcohol is at your own discretion. We appreciate guests not bringing red wine aboard as it has a tendency to stain the interior of the boat.

How much time will we be snorkeling?

Our boat is strategically located only a short distance from the reef. This allows our guests adequate time to truly experience the reef with approximately 1.5 hours of actual time in the water.

How often is your snorkeling gear sanitized?

All gear is sanitized before each trip.

Is there a head (bathroom) on the boat?

No. However, there are restroom facilities available to use at our marina.

Can guests in wheelchairs, with strollers, or other mobility challenges join the tour?

While the marina has wheelchair-accessible entrances and parking, boarding the boat and entering the water for snorkeling may be challenging for guests with limited mobility. If you or someone in your group has specific accessibility needs, please contact us prior to booking so we can assess accommodations and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

What wildlife might we encounter on the tour?

During your guided snorkel, you may encounter a variety of vibrant marine life including tropical fish, sea turtles, rays, colorful corals, and possibly nurse sharks or barracudas. The John Pennekamp Coral Reef is home to over 1,400 species of marine animals and plants, offering a rich and exciting underwater experience.
