Durango is a mountain biking mecca, and 2nd Ave Sports is your go-to shop for everything from cost friendly hardtail mountain bike rentals to high-performance demo mountain bikes. Whether you’re looking to session the gnarly tech of Horse Gulch, shred flowy singletrack or get lost in the San Juan backcountry, we've got the ride for it.
Choose from premium brands like Trek, Yeti, Transition, Santa Cruz, Pivot, Mondraker, and Scott. Our fleet includes
- Aluminum hardtail mountain bike rentals
- Aluminum full-suspension mountain bike rentals
- Carbon full-suspension bike rentals
- Availabile in 29”, 27.5”, and mullet wheel setups—
- All rental mountain bikes run tubeless tires, have dropper posts, and are dialed for peak performance. Want to test a dream rig before buying? Our demo program is built for that too.
Where Can You Ride?
Pick up your bike and hit any of Durango’s incredible trail systems. From town trail networks like Horse Gultch, Test Tracks, Twin Buttes, and Animas Mountain can be accessed without needing a car. Want to ride further away in the high country? We’ve got 2" hitch racks for 2 or 4 bikes and tailgate pads available to help you get there.
Transport Options
- 2"hitch receiver | 2-bike hitch rack: $25/day
- 2"hitch receiver | 4-bike hitch rack: $35/day
- Truck tailgate pad: $20/day
- Bike racks are rated for bikes up to 50 lbs/tray
Rental Duration
- Full-day rentals only (no hourly or half-day)
- Pickup: 9 AM (or after 4 PM the day before—there is no extra charge for this if bike is available!)
- Return: by 6 PM

What are the kids mountain bike rental options?
Kids mountain bikes are available in a 20" or a 24" wheel size for hardtail mountain bike rentals. Full suspension bikes are only available as small as an extra small size which may work for some kids rentals.
