Explore the serene backwaters of Southwest Florida at your own pace with a 2-hour kayak or paddleboard rental at the Isles of Capri Paddlecraft Park. This is the only public-access facility in Collier County designed exclusively for non-motorized watercraft, making it an ideal launch point into the calm, mangrove-fringed waters of McIlvane Bay.
Choose from single kayaks, tandem kayaks, or stand-up paddleboards (SUPs) — all well-maintained and ready to go. Single kayaks feature front and rear open storage areas with bungee lashing to secure your gear, and are comfortable for a wide range of paddlers. Tandem kayaks are perfect for exploring with a partner or family member. Paddleboards are suitable for all skill levels and come GoPro and accessory-mount ready.
Whether you're weaving through mangrove tunnels, scanning the shallows for wildlife, or simply drifting with the current and soaking up the Florida sunshine, 2 hours on the water is a perfect introduction to what makes this corner of Southwest Florida so special. Keep an eye out for dolphins, ospreys, great blue herons, and manatees — all commonly spotted in and around McIlvane Bay.
Your rental comes fully equipped: a paddle, personal flotation device (PFD), a dry bag, and a map of the area. First-time paddlers receive complimentary basic instructions before setting off. Equipment is delivered directly to the Paddle Park — just show up, gear up, and go.

Do I need previous experience to paddle at Capri Paddlecraft Park?
No prior experience is needed. Your team provides complimentary instructions before you head out, and the calm, shallow waters of McIlvane Bay make the Isles of Capri Paddlecraft Park one of the most beginner-friendly launch sites in the area.
What wildlife might I see?
McIlvane Bay and the surrounding mangroves are home to a variety of wildlife. Common sightings include bottlenose dolphins, manatees, ospreys, great blue herons, egrets, and various fish species. Reviewers have reported dolphin and manatee sightings right from the launch ramp.
Are there restrooms and parking at the park?
Yes. The Isles of Capri Paddlecraft Park has clean restroom facilities, picnic pavilions, a freshwater rinse station, and parking for approximately 50 vehicles. Note that parking fees apply (paid on-site), as does a per-vessel launch fee at the park kiosk.
Where can I paddle from the Isles of Capri Paddlecraft Park?
The park provides access to McIlvane Bay and the quiet backwaters surrounding the Isles of Capri. From there, paddlers can explore mangrove tunnels, spot wildlife in the shallows, and discover a relatively undisturbed stretch of the Ten Thousand Islands Reserve.
What happens if it rains?
Light rain typically does not affect rentals — many paddlers enjoy the water in a light shower. If severe weather or unsafe conditions develop, the team will work with you on options.
Is Capri Paddlecraft Park good for swimming?
The Capri Paddlecraft Park does have many oyster beds throughout the tunnels and open water areas. Do NOT go swimming or jump out of your kayak unless you can see where you are stepping. This location is meant to explore by kayak and not to get out of the kayak, so please be prepared on the type of exploring you wish to do from this location.
Can we go shelling from this location?
No. This area does not allow access to any beaches for shelling. Live shelling is illegal also.
Can we go fishing here?
Yes! Bring along your fishing gear and you can fish throughout the area. We have fishing pole adaptors to hold your rod! If you do not have gear, we offer fishing pole rentals, and bait and tackle for purchase!
Cancellation Policy
Customers will receive a full refund if they cancel their reservation 48 hours prior to the date and time of their booking, (customers will be charged in full within the 48 hour period before the booking). Changes on your reservation will be received 48 hours in advance, otherwise your will be charged in full for your original booking. Contact us by phone to cancel or inquire about a cancellation. No-shows will be charged the full price. Customers will also receive a full refund in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
