Description
Grab an E-Bike & Make the Next Two Hours Yours!
Got a couple of free hours? Grab an e-bike and turn them into a West Maui adventure. A 2-hour electric bike rental gives you the freedom to explore at your own pace without following a tour route or keeping up with a group. Cruise around Kāʻanapali, head toward the coast, stop for photos, grab a bite, or simply take the bike out and see where the ride takes you.
Choose from several styles of e-bike and get matched with a bike that fits your size and riding plans. Before setting off, you'll receive an e-bike orientation so you understand the controls, gears, and pedal-assist system. Once you're comfortable, the schedule is completely yours. Electric assistance makes it easier to cover more ground and tackle West Maui's hills while still enjoying the freedom of traveling by bike.
Two hours is also a great option if you've never ridden an e-bike before and want to give one a try without committing to a half- or full-day rental. Whether you're sightseeing, getting around locally, or simply looking for an easy outdoor activity between other Maui plans, pick your bike, switch on the assist, and make the most of your time on two wheels.

FAQs
Where can I take my e-bike, and how far can I go?
Your rental gives you the freedom to explore West Maui at your own pace while following local bicycle rules and any posted restrictions. With only two hours, it’s best to keep your adventure relatively close to the shop so you have plenty of time to stop, explore, and return your bike without rushing. The team can help you choose a route that fits your available time before you set off.
Is a 2-hour rental good for first-time e-bike riders?
Yes! A two-hour rental is a great introduction if you've never ridden an e-bike before. You should already be comfortable riding and controlling a regular bicycle, but no previous e-bike experience is necessary. You'll receive an orientation covering the controls, gears, and pedal assist before heading out, and an evaluation test ride can help you make sure you're comfortable with the bike.
What happens if I'm running late and need the e-bike longer?
Your bike should be returned by the end of your scheduled 2-hour rental period. If you're running behind, contact the shop as soon as possible. Late returns are charged in additional hourly increments, subject to the rental terms and bike availability.
What are some good places to explore during a 2-hour e-bike rental?
With two hours, focus on nearby West Maui sights rather than trying to cover a huge distance. Depending on your route and current access, you can explore the Kāʻanapali area, nearby beaches and coastal viewpoints, local shops and restaurants, or ride toward the hills above Kāʻanapali for elevated ocean views. If you have a particular type of ride in mind—beaches, scenery, food, or simply a relaxing cruise—the team can help you plan a route that comfortably fits your two-hour rental window.
What rules should I follow while riding my e-bike in Maui?
E-bikes follow the same basic rules of the road as bicycles. Ride on the right side of the road in the same direction as traffic, obey traffic lights, signs, and lane markings, and use hand signals when turning or stopping. When riding with others, travel single file rather than side-by-side.
Stay off sidewalks, golf course paths, and anywhere marked “No Bikes.” If you'll be riding around dusk or after dark, make sure your bike lights are turned on so you're easier for drivers and other road users to see.
Do I need previous e-bike experience?
No previous e-bike experience is required, but you do need to already know how to ride a bicycle confidently. Riders should be comfortable balancing, pedaling, braking, mounting and dismounting, and making controlled turns. Before you set off, you'll receive an orientation covering the e-bike controls and pedal-assist system so you can get comfortable with how everything works.
What is E-Bike Rescue, and what does it cover?
E-Bike Rescue is optional coverage that can be added before your ride for $10. It covers assistance for flat tires and electronic failures within a 7.5-mile (12 km) radius in West Maui.
Coverage does not extend north of Honolua Bay or south of Olowalu. Assistance outside the covered area may still be available for an additional fee based on distance. Running out of battery outside the West Maui boundaries is also not covered. If you'd like E-Bike Rescue, make sure to add it before beginning your ride.
How long does an e-bike battery last?
Battery range varies based on the bike, rider weight, terrain, gearing, and how much pedal assist you use. Typically, standard e-bikes can travel approximately 12–30 miles (19–48 km) per charge, while premium e-bikes may reach approximately 30–60 miles (48–97 km).
To conserve battery, use lower levels of pedal assist when you don't need the extra power and shift into an appropriate lower gear when climbing hills. If the battery does run out, you can still pedal and shift gears like a regular bicycle.
