Description

2-Hour Livermore E-Bike Rental — Explore the Livermore Valley Wine Country

The Livermore Valley is California's original wine country — and the best way to experience it is from the saddle of a Pedego e-bike. The shop sits right on the grounds of Concannon Vineyard, one of California's most celebrated historic wineries, with the Livermore Valley wine trail network just across Tesla Road. In two hours you can weave through sun-drenched vineyards, pop into a tasting room or two, and take in the sweeping views of the Tri-Valley hills that have made this region a favorite weekend destination for the Bay Area for generations.

Staff will set you up with a laminated map of the valley's wineries and bike paths, customize a route to your pace and interests, and send you off with everything you need. The pannier bags and wine bottle carrier let you bring back anything you fall in love with along the way.

Duration

2-Hour Rental — Arrive a few minutes early for bike fitting, orientation, and route planning. Bikes must be returned to the shop at the end of your rental window.

FAQs

Where can I ride in 2 hours from Concannon?

The Livermore Valley wine trail network radiates out from Concannon Vineyard in multiple directions. In two hours, most riders comfortably reach two or three nearby wineries and return. Steven Kent Winery is just 0.7 miles (1.1 km) away on South Vasco Road — a natural first stop. Garré Vineyard is about 2.7 miles (4.3 km) south on Tesla Road, passing through open vineyards with beautiful valley views. Wente Vineyards, one of the valley's largest and most celebrated estates, is approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) away. Staff will customize a route based on your pace and which wineries are open on your visit day.

Are the routes paved?

The Livermore Valley has dedicated bike paths and bike lanes throughout the wine trail network. Some sections of popular winery routes use country roads shared with cars — these are low-speed roads with good visibility. Staff will map out the safest and most scenic route for your group before you leave.

Can I visit wineries while on a rental?

Absolutely — winery hopping is the whole point. The laminated map provided at pickup marks all the wineries, their hours, and the bike paths connecting them. Tasting fees are at your own expense. Please taste in moderation and do not ride if impaired.

Is there an age limit for wine tasting at the wineries?

You must be 21 or older to consume alcohol at any winery. Riders under 21 are welcome to join the ride and visit the vineyards, but will not be able to participate in wine tastings. Please bring a valid ID.

Is Concannon Vineyard open for tasting when I return from my ride?

Concannon is open daily at 11:30 AM — perfectly timed for a tasting after your ride. See the Pedego at Concannon: Bike Wine Country listing if you'd like a reserved tasting experience bundled with your e-bike ride.

Is parking easy at Concannon?

Yes — Concannon Vineyard has a free parking lot on-site at 4590 Tesla Rd.

What is a Pedego electric bike and how does it work?

Pedego electric bikes use a pedal-assist system — as you pedal, the motor kicks in to amplify your effort. You can adjust the assist level to get as much or as little help as you want, and most models have a throttle for power without pedaling at all. In the Livermore Valley, that assistance is especially welcome on the rolling wine trail roads and on warm afternoons when a cool glass of something is waiting at the next stop.

How far can I go on a single charge?

Most Pedego bikes are rated for 20–60 miles (32–97 km) per charge. The Livermore Valley wine trail network is well within range for a full day of winery hopping — riders regularly cover 15–25 miles (24–40 km) across multiple stops with battery to spare.

Do I need experience riding a bicycle to rent an e-bike?

You should be able to ride a standard bicycle before renting. Staff will provide a full orientation and practice time before you head out, and the laminated route maps make self-guided navigation easy. The valley's dedicated bike paths are well-suited to riders of all experience levels.

Are helmets required?

Yes — helmets are required by shop policy and are included with every rental and tour. California law requires riders under 18 to wear a helmet.

Do I need to be a strong cyclist?

Not at all. The e-bike's pedal-assist handles the rolling terrain of the Livermore Valley without effort. The wine trail routes are designed for riders of all fitness levels, and many guests have never ridden an e-bike before their first visit.

Can I bring wine back with me?

Yes — every rental bike can be equipped with a pannier bag and wine bottle carrier upon request. Pick up a bottle (or a few) along your route and they'll ride safely back with you.

What is the weather policy?

Rentals and tours go forward in all but severe weather. The Livermore Valley is known for hot, sunny summers — early start times are strongly recommended from June through September. Full refund for cancellations made at least 24 hours in advance.

What happens if I get a flat tire or the bike has a mechanical issue?

Contact the shop directly. Keep bikes locked when stopped and secure them whenever you're inside a tasting room.

Is parking available?

Yes — free parking is available at Concannon Vineyard at 4590 Tesla Rd.

Do I need to book in advance?

Booking in advance is recommended, especially on weekends and during peak wine country season (April through October). The shop is open Monday and Thursday through Sunday, 11:30 AM–5:00 PM; closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

What time does the shop open and close?

Monday and Thursday through Sunday, 11:30 AM–5:00 PM. Closed Tuesday and Wednesday. All bikes must be returned at least 30 minutes before closing.
