Description

2-Hour Fort Worth E-Bike Rental — Explore the Near Southside, Trinity Trails & Beyond

Fort Worth is where the West begins — and riding an electric bike through it is the most fun you can have on two wheels in the city. The shop sits in the heart of the Near Southside, one of Fort Worth's most eclectic and walkable neighborhoods, directly across the street from Rahr & Sons Brewery and at the gateway to 70+ miles (113+ km) of the Trinity Trails bike path system. In two hours you can cover a serious slice of the city.

Head north from the shop through downtown Fort Worth — past the Fort Worth Water Gardens, the JFK Tribute, and Sundance Square — and pick up the Trinity Trails along the river. Every rental bike comes with a cell phone holder so Google Bike Maps keeps you on track the whole way, and the staff will customize your route before you roll out based on how far you want to go and what you want to see. For first-time visitors, the downtown loop to the Stockyards is the classic run — about 15 miles (24 km) round trip on dedicated bike paths and lanes, almost entirely flat.

FAQs

Where can I ride in 2 hours from the shop?

The shop sits at the edge of downtown Fort Worth and the Near Southside, with direct access to the Trinity Trails system — 70+ miles (113+ km) of paved bike paths along the Trinity River. The most popular 2-hour self-guided route heads north from the shop through the Near Southside and into downtown, passing the Fort Worth Water Gardens, JFK Tribute, Sundance Square, and Panther Island before joining the Trinity Trails toward the Stockyards. The full loop is approximately 15 miles (24 km) and takes about 2 hours at a comfortable pace with stops. Alternatively, you can ride south on the Trinity Trails toward Trinity Park and the Fort Worth Zoo for a quieter, more natural stretch. Staff will map out the ideal route for your group.

Can I ride to the Fort Worth Stockyards?

Yes — the Stockyards is one of the most popular destinations for a 2-hour rental. The route runs from the Near Southside through downtown and along the Trinity Trails, a distance of approximately 7–8 miles (11–13 km) each way. If you time it right, you can catch the Fort Worth Herd cattle drive, which runs daily down Exchange Avenue at 11:30 AM and 4:00 PM.

Are e-bikes allowed on the Trinity Trails and downtown bike paths?

Yes — Class 1 and Class 2 e-bikes are permitted on the Trinity Trails and Fort Worth's downtown bike infrastructure. The route includes a mix of dedicated bike paths, protected bike lanes, and some sections in shared bike lanes on low-speed roads. Staff will walk you through the route before you head out.

Does the bike have navigation?

Yes — every rental bike includes a mounted cell phone holder. Load Google Bike Maps before you leave and follow the cycling directions. Staff will also pre-load or recommend a specific route based on your interests.

What is a Pedego electric bike and how does it work?

Pedego electric bikes use a pedal-assist system — as you pedal, the motor kicks in to amplify your effort. You can adjust the assist level to get as much or as little help as you want. Most models also have a throttle, so you can cruise without pedaling whenever you'd like. It's just like riding a regular bike, only better — Fort Worth's flat terrain and wide bike lanes make it especially easy to get around.

How far can I go on a single charge?

Most Pedego bikes are rated for 20–60 miles (32–97 km) per charge. Fort Worth is a flat city, and the Trinity Trails system, downtown loop, and Stockyards run are all well within range. Even the full 15-mile (24 km) guided tour loop barely touches the battery.

Do I need experience riding a bicycle to rent or tour on an e-bike?

You must be able to confidently ride a bike before renting or joining a tour. The e-bike adds a motor, but the handling is the same — basic bike skills are required. Staff will make sure you're properly fitted and comfortable before you head out.

Are helmets required?

Texas state law does not require helmets for adult e-bike riders. Helmets are included with every rental and tour and are strongly recommended. All riders are encouraged to wear them.

Do I need to be physically fit?

Not at all — the tours and rental routes are suitable for all physical fitness levels. Fort Worth is a flat city and the e-bike assists on any slight inclines, making the riding effortless regardless of your fitness.

What is the weather policy?

Rentals go forward rain or shine in mild conditions. Fort Worth summers are hot — early morning rentals and tours are recommended from June through September. Contact the shop directly if severe weather is forecast on your day.

Do I need to book in advance?

Booking in advance is recommended, especially on weekends. The shop is open Wednesday through Saturday 10:00 AM–5:00 PM and Sunday 12:00 PM–5:00 PM; closed Monday and Tuesday.

What time does the shop open and close?

Wednesday through Saturday, 10:00 AM–5:00 PM. Sunday, 12:00 PM–5:00 PM. Closed Monday and Tuesday. All bikes must be returned by closing time.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans can change and are happy to work with you on rescheduling your tour if it becomes necessary. If you need to cancel rather than reschedule, a full refund will be made for cancellations 7 days or more prior to your tour. For cancellations made within 6 days or less notice, we will grant a rain check to use at a later time. No refunds or rain checks will be given for cancellations within 24 hours of a scheduled tour.
