Description

2-Hour Napa Bike Rental from Yountville - Explore Napa Valley Vine Trail

Yountville is the most bike-friendly town in the valley, and two hours is all you need to feel it properly. Pick up your bike from the shop right on Washington Street, roll out onto the car-free Vine Trail, and within minutes you're riding past vineyard rows with nothing but open sky and grapevines ahead. Head north toward the Oakville corridor — Opus One, Groth, and Silver Oak are all along this stretch — or follow the trail south through the Oak Knoll District and down toward the Napa Riverfront.

Two hours is perfect for a morning warm-up before a tasting appointment, a post-lunch spin through town, or a quick way to see more of the valley than you would on foot. You choose the Comfort Cruiser or upgrade to the Specialized Turbo Como pedal-assist e-bike — either way, the Vine Trail is flat, paved, car-free, and forgiving for riders of all experience levels.

FAQs

What types of bikes are available to rent?

Two options are available: the Comfort Cruiser — an upright, easy-riding bike with a wide seat and relaxed positioning — and the Specialized Turbo Como pedal-assist e-bike. The e-bike features four levels of assist plus a throttle, a top speed of 20 mph, and a range of 60+ miles in Eco mode. It's pedal-assist only (no throttle-only mode), so the riding feels natural — just like a regular bike, only faster. The vast majority of guests who try an e-bike say they wish they had upgraded sooner.

Do I need to book in advance?

Reservations are strongly recommended, especially during peak season (May–October) and on weekends. Inventory is limited and the shop's rental fleet is frequently fully booked on busy days.

Can I return my bike to a differnent location?

Yes — point-to-point rides are available across all three locations. A $20-per-bike Relocation Fee applies when you return to a different shop from where you started. The three locations are:

  • Downtown Napa — 1275 McKinstry Street, Napa, CA 94559
  • Yountville — 6500 Washington Street, Yountville, CA 94599
  • St. Helena — 2800 Main Street, St. Helena, CA 94574 (at Charles Krug Winery)

Note that there is no Calistoga location; the St. Helena shop is the closest (8 miles south of Calistoga). Shuttles and bike retrieval services are not offered.

How far can I ride in 2 hours from Yountville?

On a Comfort Cruiser at a relaxed pace, two hours gets you roughly 5–8 miles out and back — enough to reach the Oakville corridor to the north or deep into the Oak Knoll District to the south. On an e-bike, you can comfortably cover more ground. The Vine Trail is flat and car-free the entire way, so there's no need to worry about traffic.

Is 2 hours enough time to visit a winery?

It can be, depending on the winery. Yountville has several tasting rooms within a short walk of the shop. If you're planning a winery visit as part of your 2-hour window, book your tasting appointment in advance and factor in the ride time each way. Note that most tasting appointments in Napa require advance reservations.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations for any reason will incur a 10% cancellation fee before refund. Online booking fees are also non-refundable.
  • A minimum of 48 hours notice is required to receive partial refund; reservations are strictly non-refundable within 48 hours of reservation date.
  • Cancellation fees apply regardless of weather.
