Weekend Bike Rental in St. Helena, Napa Valley
A weekend from the St. Helena shop means two days of access to the Vine Trail's newest and most spectacular segment — the 8-mile (13 km) car-free stretch north through private vineyard parcels to Calistoga. On day one, ride north through the vineyards past the Welcome to Napa Valley sign, stop at Castello di Amorosa (The Castle), and arrive in Calistoga with time to explore the town's shops, restaurants, and tasting rooms before the return ride. On day two, turn it around: visit a winery you passed on day one, take the trail at a slower pace and stop more often, or push south toward Yountville on a different route.
St. Helena itself is one of Napa's most charming towns — 19th-century downtown architecture, excellent restaurants, and Main Street tasting rooms worth exploring between rides. The comfort cruiser covers all the ground you need on the trail; the pedal-assist e-bike makes the round trip to Calistoga and back a genuinely effortless experience, with plenty of battery left for day two; and the road bike opens up the valley's quieter back roads for experienced cyclists who want to push the pace.

Located at Charles Krug Winery on Main Street. Street parking is available in St. Helena; be respectful of posted time limits and private property signs. Open daily 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day).

- Kids bikes available for ages 6+ and 40 inches (102 cm) and taller. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
- Kids accessories available for ages 1+ (see add-ons).
- Riders must be confident riding a bicycle independently.

What bikes are available for rental?
Three categories of bikes are available, in multiple sizes:
Comfort Cruisers — Upright, relaxed-position bikes ideal for casual trail riding. Sizes: Small (5'0"–5'5"), Medium (5'5"–5'8"), Large (5'8"–5'11"), X-Large (5'11"–6'3").
Electric Bikes (Specialized Turbo Como) — Pedal-assist with four assist levels, throttle, 20 mph top speed, and 60+ mile range. Sizes: SM/MED (5'0"–5'7"), LG (5'8"–6'1"), XL (6'2"–6'6") (throttle not available on XL).
Road Bikes (Specialized Roubaix SL8) — Performance bikes with electronic shifting for experienced cyclists. Seven frame sizes from 44cm (4'8"–5'0") to 61cm (6'2"–6'5"); most sizes feature SRAM eTAP 1×12 groupset; 58cm features Shimano 105 Di2.

Can I return to a different shop location?
Yes — point-to-point rides are available across all three locations. A $20-per-bike Relocation Fee applies when you return to a different shop from where you started. The three locations are:
- Downtown Napa — 1275 McKinstry Street, Napa, CA 94559
- Yountville — 6500 Washington Street, Yountville, CA 94599
- St. Helena — 2800 Main Street, St. Helena, CA 94574 (at Charles Krug Winery)
Note that there is no Calistoga location; the St. Helena shop is the closest (8 miles south of Calistoga). Shuttles and bike retrieval services are not offered.
Do I need to book in advance?
Reservations are strongly recommended, especially during peak season (May–October) and on weekends. Inventory is limited and the shop's rental fleet is frequently fully booked on busy days.
How should I plan my two days riding from St. Helena?
Day one suggestion: ride north on the Vine Trail's newest segment to Calistoga (8 miles / 13 km), stopping at Castello di Amorosa if you have a reservation — aim to book your visit about 1 hour after bike pickup to allow for riding time. Explore Calistoga's restaurants and tasting rooms, then return to St. Helena. Day two suggestion: slow the pace, stop at wineries you passed the day before, or point south toward Yountville on local roads for a change of scenery. Several wineries near the trail welcome walk-ins, making spontaneous stops easy.
Can I visit Castello di Amorosa on my rental?
Yes — the castle is approximately 5 miles (8 km) north on the Vine Trail. A reservation is required to enter the driveway; aim to book your Castello appointment approximately 1 hour after your planned bike pickup to allow for the ride. The castle is not visible from the trail without entering the driveway.

- A minimum of 48 hrs notice (prior to tour meet time) is required in order to receive a partial refund.
- Reservations are strictly non-refundable within 48 hours of rental start.
- Cancellations for any reason will incur a 10% cancellation fee before refund. Online booking fees are also non-refundable.
- Alternately, you may request a full credit Gift Card towards a future rescheduled booking.
