Pick up a comfort cruiser, upgrade to a pedal-assist e-bike, or take out a road bike and use the valley's quieter back roads for a faster, more technical ride. The 16-mile (26 km) round trip to Calistoga and back is one of the best half-day rides in wine country, leaving plenty of time to explore St. Helena's Main Street or pop into a winery on the return leg. A number of wineries along the trail welcome walk-ins, making the St. Helena rental ideal for spontaneous days with no fixed itinerary.

What bikes are available for rental?
Three categories of bikes are available, in multiple sizes:
Comfort Cruisers — Upright, relaxed-position bikes ideal for casual trail riding. Sizes: Small (5'0"–5'5"), Medium (5'5"–5'8"), Large (5'8"–5'11"), X-Large (5'11"–6'3").
Electric Bikes (Specialized Turbo Como) — Pedal-assist with four assist levels, throttle, 20 mph top speed, and 60+ mile range. Sizes: SM/MED (5'0"–5'7"), LG (5'8"–6'1"), XL (6'2"–6'6") (throttle not available on XL).
Road Bikes (Specialized Roubaix SL8) — Performance bikes with electronic shifting for experienced cyclists. Seven frame sizes from 44cm (4'8"–5'0") to 61cm (6'2"–6'5"); most sizes feature SRAM eTAP 1×12 groupset; 58cm features Shimano 105 Di2.

Can I return to a different shop location?
Yes — point-to-point rides are available across all three locations. A $20-per-bike Relocation Fee applies when you return to a different shop from where you started. The three locations are:
- Downtown Napa — 1275 McKinstry Street, Napa, CA 94559
- Yountville — 6500 Washington Street, Yountville, CA 94599
- St. Helena — 2800 Main Street, St. Helena, CA 94574 (at Charles Krug Winery)
Note that there is no Calistoga location; the St. Helena shop is the closest (8 miles south of Calistoga). Shuttles and bike retrieval services are not offered.
Do I need to book in advance?
Reservations are strongly recommended, especially during peak season (May–October) and on weekends. Inventory is limited and the shop's rental fleet is frequently fully booked on busy days.
Where should I ride from St. Helena?
Head north on the Vine Trail's newest segment (opened August 2024) for a spectacular 8-mile (13 km) car-free ride to Calistoga. Highlights include the Welcome to Napa Valley sign, Castello di Amorosa (The Castle winery — note that entry requires a reservation; aim to book your visit about 1 hour after your bike pickup to allow for riding time), and Bothe-Napa Valley State Park. Calistoga is a charming town with shops, restaurants, hot springs, and tasting rooms to explore before the return ride. Round trip is approximately 16 miles (26 km). You can also ride south toward Yountville, though note that the Yountville-to-St. Helena Vine Trail segment is still in development (targeted for 2028); that section involves some local roads.
Can I visit Castello di Amorosa on my rental?
Yes — the castle is approximately 5 miles (8 km) north of the St. Helena shop along the Vine Trail. You must have a reservation to enter the driveway (the castle is not visible from the trail or the road without entering). Aim to book your Castello appointment approximately 1 hour after your planned bike pickup to allow time for the ride up.

Exceptions will not be made for individuals claiming they did not understand or thought the terms said something different. Optional Trip Protection (explained below) is the best option for anyone that wants the right to cancel up to 24 hours for any reason for a full refund (including the Trip Protection fee).*
- A minimum of 48 hrs notice (prior to tour meet time) is required in order to receive a partial refund.
- Reservations are strictly non-refundable within 48 hours of rental start.
- Cancellations for any reason will incur a 10% cancellation fee before refund. Online booking fees are also non-refundable.
- Alternately, you may request a full credit Gift Card towards a future rescheduled booking.
