Emma Prairie (Desrochers) is writer, diver, and all-around outdoor nerd who’s happiest hauling a pack through the mountains or drifting weightless underwater. She’s backpacked the John Muir Trail solo, summited Colorado’s infamous Capitol Peak, and chased glowing critters on pelagic blackwater dives in Hawaii. Her favorite days end dirty, salty, sore—and stoked to do it all again tomorrow! She brings a background in journalism and environmental science to her work on the TripOutside blog, where she wants to share stories and guides to encourage and inspire others to have the confidence to jump headfirst into their own human-powered adventures!
