Jackson, WY, sometimes referred to as Jackson Hole, is a beautiful and expansive place. Between the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, the Snake River, and the national forests surrounding this mountain town, there is a lot to see and a lot of ground to cover. Why E-Biking in Jackson is Great

There are few things as satisfying as hopping off your e-bike after a day of riding and still having the energy to enjoy your evening. Here are some of our favorite things about e-biking in Jackson Hole, WY:

Save Energy For Downtown

Unlike some tiny rural towns, Jackson has a busy, robust nightlife with many cool bars and restaurants that stay open late. You’ll want to save your energy for enjoying the evening in Jackson, and electric bikes make that easy!

Jackson Hole E-Bikes Are Welcome

There has been some controversy in many outdoorsy towns over e-bike use. Jackson Hole has placed themselves squarely in the e-bikes allowed category. Electric bikes are welcome here and there are plenty of places to ride.  At TripOutside, we don’t promote e-biking on mountain bike trails, but we think they are a great way to get around town, explore the National Park, avoid traffic and full parking lots and reduce fossil fuels!

Welcome in the Parks

The National Park Service embraced e-bikes back in 2019, so your electric bike can also take you all around the national parks near Jackson. Anywhere a regular bike can go in Yellowstone and Grand Teton, your Jackson Hole e-bike rental is welcome!

Where to Go Biking in Jackson

Between the parks and the town, there is no shortage of places to use your electric bike in Jackson Hole WY. Here are our favorite trails for e-bikes:

Grand Teton National Park Pathway

Depending on where you get your Jackson Hole e-bike rental, you can either start from the town of Jackson or from Moose Junction at the south end of Grand Teton National Park. This pathway stretches from Moose all the way up to Jenny Lake, about 10.6 miles. This beautiful ride can also be extended onto the Jenny Lake Scenic Drive, adding about 3 more miles.

North 89 Pathway

This is a great way to get from Jackson to Moose if you want to ride the Grand Teton National Park Pathway. The 12.4 mile path runs from Jackson Hole to Moose past the National Elk Refuge and some stunning scenery.

Paul Merritt Pathway

Check out the southern end of town with the Paul Merritt Pathway, which travels 5.5 miles from Jackson Hole to Game Creek Road with expansive views of prairie. You can also tack on the 3-mile South Park Pathway through rural farmland to create a loop back to Jackson Hole.

When to Go Biking in Jackson

Summertime makes for perfect biking weather in Jackson. May through August is a popular time to visit, so there is some crowd navigation necessary in these beautiful months, but the mild weather makes it worth it. Jackson Hole is about 6200 feet in elevation, which means nice crisp mornings and comfortable night weather for camping, even in the heart of summer. Highs rarely get above the mid-80s and there are only 5-6 days of rain in the summer months.

Getting to Jackson, WY
