We learned about Monte’s story from the Patagonia newsletter which led us to find the incredible work that Richmond Cycling Corps is doing.
Growing up in the public housing projects of East End Richmond, Virginia, Monte Cosby felt his options for the future were restricted. However, discovering mountain biking opened up new pathways for him. Over the years, the bike has acted as a connector between disparate worlds and a means to surmount life’s challenges.
Please consider joining us and donating to Richmond Cycling Corps, the organization that helps kids like Monte get outdoors through cycling. Their mission is to educate and empower the lives of Richmond youth living in the heart of the East End by constantly pivoting towards relevant outreach.
Next time you’re visiting Richmond, consider renting bikes from The Kickstand Bike Shop, an extension of the Richmond Cycling Corps
