Our beginner to touring pace guided bike tour skirting the Sonoran Desert is the best way to move your legs and enjoy some fresh air while you cruise the paved paths that wind through the beauty of Phoenix. Take in the unique saguaro cactus, breathtaking views of the desert landscape and redefine what it means to ride within city limits. We offer a new take on the hustle and bustle most know of Phoenix.

Tour Details

Join our amazing Wild Bunch 5-star rated guides as we ride the paved trails along the Sonoran Desert at Apache Wash in North Phoenix. This is not a mountain bike trail tour or a road ride.

This tour will show off the beauty of our Sonoran Desert as well as provide some 360 views of North Scottsdale, Cave Creek, Carefree, Glendale and Phoenix as riders pass through beautiful cactus gardens and wildflowers all on paved trails.

The ride itself is a max distance of 11 miles on pavement and can be shortened if needed. The timing is 90 minutes of bike/desert education time.

Because all of our tours are private, we are able to specifically tailor the trip to the fitness and skill levels of the guests. If you have not been on a bike for a while, our guides can help you rediscover that talent. If you are a road cyclist or an intermediate or experienced mountain biker, we have you covered with varying degrees of challenges, too. The Wild Bunch also specializes in families, first-timers, and kids because many of our guides are trained Mountain Bike instructors who can teach beginners how to get rolling.

Our Guides

Our guides work hard to ensure your tour is both fun and educational, minding the route while they share interesting facts relevant to the history and wildlife of the area. This is best for families, couples and those interested in riding without the fear of off road trails.

Our guides have many years and levels of experience on the mountain bike to show you a safe, fun and fantastic time.

When led by an expert guide, there is no need to waste time looking down at a map and risk taking a wrong turn and missing the unforgettable scenery. Guests of the Wild Bunch Desert Guides get the full adrenaline-rushing experience while also safely navigating the desert with the aid of extremely knowledgeable and medically trained tour leaders.

All bike tours include use of a Marin Performance Hardtail Mountain Bike, helmet, gloves, snacks, bottles of water, sunscreen and a professional, medically trained guide.

Cancellation Policy

We offer a full refund up to 48 hours before the departure time of your tour. After that, 50-percent of the deposit is forfeited to help cover the costs of guides, as well as booking, bikes, and other equipment. Thank you for understanding. NOTE: Weather rarely works against outdoor plans in the “Valley of the Sun,” but should we have to cancel a tour to preserve the delicate balances in the desert, we will refund everything.

Cancellation Policy

Our cancellation policy is strictly enforced. You must let us know 48 hours before your scheduled tour time if you have any changes. Cancelling within the 48-hour window, we will charge in full. We value our staff and the time they set aside to give you an amazing adventure. If we cancel a tour due to weather conditions, we will first try to reschedule your tour while you are still in Arizona. If this cannot be accommodated, we will then issue a full refund. Weather cancellation decisions are made on the morning of the tour. We strive for a 2-hour notice with weather cancellations. Please note the tour will not be canceled due to light rain and wind conditions. If lightning is present, we will call the tour off.

We are not responsible for providing clothing and personal items that may make our ever-changing weather conditions more comfortable for you. So please keep an eye on the weather prior to your departure to the Sonoran Desert! We want you to be prepared for this unforgettable adventure!

Cancellation requests due to not having proper clothing, or other personal items will be CHARGED IN FULL.

Any cancellations due to circumstances that can provide a cancellation confirmation number (i.e. flight cancellations, screenshots of flight delays) will be refunded, in full, upon receipt of those confirmation numbers.**
