Description

Experience Aguadilla’s Coral Reefs - Certification Required!

Come explore the incredible reefs of Aguadilla on a guided shore dive, where our team will show you the best of Puerto Rico’s underwater treasures—no boat needed. These shore dives are perfect whether you’re a solo diver or with friends, offering a chance to connect with other scuba enthusiasts while discovering local reefs and wall sites. Each day the weather permits, we offer 1- and 2-tank dives, welcoming new and returning divers alike to join us for an unforgettable day on Puerto Rico’s northwest coast.
We’ll start with a quick gear fitting and an introduction to the dive plan. Your guide will share details about the dive site and what marine life you might encounter, adjusting the experience to match your skill level and the day’s conditions. With fantastic visibility, these reefs offer plenty of chances to see sea turtles, rays, seahorses, and colorful fish. Playa Crashboat, one of our favorite spots, has transformed from a military pier to an underwater wonder with corals and sea creatures making homes among the old structures.
Once you’re in the water, the beauty of Aguadilla’s reefs will unfold around you, with your guide pointing out hidden sea life and unique coral formations. Alongside fellow divers, you’ll get to know Puerto Rico’s marine world and maybe even make a few new diving buddies. Over the years, divers from all over have joined us and returned to reconnect with friends they’ve made here. So come along, dive with us, and see why Aguadilla is one of the best places for shore diving in Puerto Rico.

FAQs

Can I fly after diving?

Flying directly after scuba diving is incredibly dangerous and could result in a life-threatening illness called the Bends/Decompression Sickness. The Divers Alert Network (DAN) guidelines for flying after diving include:

  • A single no-decompression dive, a minimum preflight surface or any driving to above 1000 ft (305 m) interval of 12 hours suggested.
  • Multiple dives per day or multiple days of diving, a minimum preflight surface or any driving to above 1000ft (305m) interval of 18 hours is suggested.
  • Dives requiring decompression stops are recommended to have longer than 18 hours.

Please discuss with your dive guide ahead of time what is suggested!

Can I go hiking after diving?

Any activity that brings you above 1000 ft (305 m) can trigger the Bends/Decompression Sickness. Please check your hike elevation to ensure that at no time you will be going up in elevation. If the hike does go to elevation, you must treat it like a preflight interval as listed above in the flying FAQ.

Do I need to have my physical dive card on me to do a tour with or rent gear from you guys?

For PADI divers, we can do an online lookup with your name and date of birth. For other training agencies, we recommend bringing your card with you.

Do we take a boat?

No boat is required to get to the beautiful reefs of Aguadilla and Rincón. We wade in from the beach and swim to the reefs.

What is the difference between a private tour and a group tour?

You may not know everyone on the group tour. If you have small children or need extra attention, guides may not be able to give you the best service without compromising other participants. Therefore, if you want a more personal service, hire a private guide for your snorkeling or diving tour.

If you’re interested in a private tour, please check out our Private Guided Shore Dive!

Do you have military discounts?

Yes, we do. To thank you for your service, we give a 10% discount to the service member on any tour or dive course. Please let the desk agent checking you in know that you are an active duty or retired service member to receive your discount. Be ready to show your military ID.

Is a medical examination required?

Prior to participating in any scuba diving experience, you will be required to complete a medical history questionnaire. Certain conditions preclude us from taking you on a scuba experience without clearance from a doctor. If you feel you have any medical condition that may prevent you from participating, give us a call and we can send you a medical form for your physician to sign before you will be able to participate in a scuba experience. For all dive and snorkel participants, please let the guide know if you have any concerns or medical conditions they should be aware of.

Do I need a wetsuit or skin?

Water temperature in Puerto Rico ranges from 78 degrees Fahrenheit in the winter months (December-March) to 84 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer months. Most divers get cold in the winter months and a wetsuit is recommended. At other times of the year, wetsuits are good for abrasion protection. Wetsuits are available for rental for an additional fee, check out our rental rates for more information.

I am pregnant. Can I participate in the snorkeling or diving tour?

Scuba diving while pregnant is strictly prohibited.

How old do I have to be to take a diving tour?

For any scuba diving tour, the minimum age is 10 years.

Will I be able to park at the beach?

There is adequate free parking at most of the snorkeling and dive sites. Some sites (especially during the winter months) tend to have lots of visitors and parking can be crowded.

My partner and I want to go diving but we have our kids with us that can’t go. Is there any solution?

What can typically happen is that the parents take turns, one parent will remain on the beach to enjoy the sun and sand with the kiddos while the other parent enjoys a dive. After a surface interval, the parents swap out duties and the guide and the other parent enjoy a dive together. If this is the case, please let the dive center know in advance so that we may alert the guide. We recommend hiring a private guide in this instance.

What sunscreen can I use and why does it matter?

Common sunscreens contain chemicals that can harm coral reefs, as the particles are small enough to be absorbed by corals, causing toxicity and coral bleaching. Reef-friendly sunscreens are formulated without these harmful chemicals. Reef-SAFE sunscreens go a step further by using non-nano particles, which are too large for corals to ingest, helping to preserve marine ecosystems.

Please avoid sunscreens with oxybenzone, octinoxate, and parabens. Consider wearing sun-protective clothing, like long-sleeve rash guards, as an alternative to sunscreen. If you choose a mineral-based sunscreen, ensure it is labeled ‘non-nano.’

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations should be done 48 hours prior to the day of Tour to be exempted from the cancellation charges of 50% of the total tour cost. Cancellations made within 24 hours, will incur the full tour fee.
