Description

Lower Trinity River Full Day Whitewater Kayaking - Class II

Take a mellow, 8-mile paddle down the beautiful Trinity River! On your journey, you’ll have the opportunity to float and swim in crystal clear blue waters and do an exhilarating cliff jump, if you’d like. You’ll pass through deep secluded river canyons full of amazing wildlife, and you’ll experience a couple of fun and mild Class II rapids. This more mellow and scenic trip on the lower Trinity River is a short 45-minute drive from the redwoods and coast on Hwy 101. Many people fall in love with the Trinity River and the whitewater experience on this run.

You’ll need at least two people in your group to book this trip during the summer months. Group rates do apply: Groups of 15+ people get a 10% discount; groups of 25+ get a 15% discount; groups of 35+ get a 20% discount; and groups of 50+ get a 25% discount.

FAQs

Can I bring my camera or other personal belongings on the trip?
The river has a way of taking items from us, so if it’s not tied down or secured, you could lose it. General rule: don’t bring anything you’d hate to lose. Don’t wear expensive jewelry, don’t bring your only pair of prescription glasses, don’t bring electronics, and we don’t recommend bringing your phone (it doesn’t work in our area anyways). There is a professional photographer on the run, but if you’d like to document the trip and have a GoPro, consider using one of our helmets with a GoPro mount. If you’d like to bring your phone or camera, we’ll supply you with a drybag.
Is the shuttle back to your car included?
Yes!
Are pets allowed?
All our trips are pet friendly, as long as your doggo is gung ho about it! Our dog has run Class IV rapids frequently, but we recommend no higher than Class III for guests’ pooches.
What is the guide to guest ratio?
Our guide-to-guest ratio is typically 1:6.
What is your weather policy?
The only reason a trip would be outright canceled is for wildfires and air quality/safety issues. Rain is normal, and we have all the gear needed to keep people warm and cozy. We have canceled trips due to snow but always check in with guests to see how they’d like to proceed. Some folks are happy rafting in the snow, so it really depends on the guest!
Can we book a private trip?
Any of our trips can be private or joined with another group. If you’d like to book this as a private trip, it’ll cost $660 for up to 6 people.
