This fantastic World War II defensive structure is located at the top of Caines Head, as part of the Caines Head State Park Recreation area. We'll paddle out and land at the original Fort McGilvray dock. From there we will begin our hike, 650' of elevation gain in 2 miles. Atop you'll find yourself with a gorgeous view of the Gulf of Alaska, Harding Gateway, and Barrier Islands of Resurrection Bay! Bring a headlamp or flashlight to explore Fort McGilvray and have a snack at the gunning embedment before heading back down the trail for a fun paddle back to Millers Landing.
Itinerary
A. 7:45A check in to office for parking pass and to sign necessary forms
B. 8:00A meet guide, get outfitted for paddle
C. 8:15A warm up exercises, safety briefing
D. 8:25A depart for paddle
E. Paddle to Caines Head and hike four miles round trip to Fort McGilvray
F. Depart for Miller’s Landing

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation requests must be received by email only to reservations@millerslandingak.com. The cancellation notice date is the date the email was received at reservations@millerslandingak.com. Phone cancellations are not accepted.
Cancellation refund amounts scale from time of cancellation in relation to time of trip or stay. A $10 fee is levied on all cancellations: 30 or more days prior = 90% refund, 15-29 days prior = 75% refund, 0-14 days prior = 50% refund only if we are able to re-book your trip/stay.
A 100% refund will be issued for any activity that was cancelled due to weather by Miller's Landing. Miller's Landing reserves the right to determine weather cancellations. Rain does not constitute cancellations.
