Ideal for riders who don't want the hassle of going into a bike shop, or families who don’t have the option to transport bikes due to their size - Bighorn can accommodate them!

Bighorn also has beginner friendly options, and the Moab Brand trails are beginner and intermediate friendly trails.

Reservations are recommended, walk-up rentals are not always available.

How do they do it? - By finding out where and how long their customers have ridden, what type of bikes they have owned, and what they like best about riding. With this understanding, they can structure an effective instruction method that allows customers to have the best mountain biking experience. 

What you can expect

• When customers arrive they spend a few minutes getting to know their history and their expectations for the day.
• From there we describe the features and mechanics of the bikes. This includes how to shift, when to shift and how to brake.
• Next, they provide trail tips. This includes safety tips, how to analyze the terrain, how to focus on the trail, and how to follow the trail rules.
• They discuss some environmental aspects of the desert, both for the protection of the environment and the riders.
• Finally, highlighting a route on the map that is specifically designed for their group and expectations.

Bighorn rents Marin brand mountain bikes with hardtail and full suspension options are perfect for the Moab Bar M (Brands) trails.

Cancellation Policy

Reservations are paid in advance. All reservation transactions are final within 48 hours of the scheduled activity. Cancel 2 days before the reservation and receive a full refund.

Can I rent bikes at Bar M trails in Moab?

Yes, you can! You can rent a bike from Bighorn Mountain Biking, who will deliver your bike right to the Bar M / Moab Brands trailhead. You can rent a bike and go explore a large network of trails that offers something for beginners, intermediate and even advanced riders. 

You can also pedal (or drive) 4 miles away to the Klonzo bike trail network which offers several great mountain biking trails. 

Intermediate and advanced riders can also opt to shuttle up to the start of the Mag 7 trail system and ride most of the trails and skip Gold Bar and Portal (extremely advanced trails) and finish back at Bighorn Mountain Biking to finish the ride. 

Between these 3 trail systems, you have so many amazing opportunities to explore some of the best trails that Moab has to offer. 

Does Bighorn Mountain Biking rent kids bikes?

Yes. You can rent kids bikes from Marin at both of the Bighorn Mountain Biking locations. 

Are the trails in Moab good for beginners?

Absolutely. There are some great options for beginners at the Bar M, Klonzo and the Dead Horse State Park. Big Horn Mountain Biking can guide you to the best options based on your ability and comfort level. 

Can you bike at Arches National Park?

Technically yes, but we don't recommend it. You can only bike on the paved roads and the 4x4 roads inside the park and it's not the best experience as the roads can be very busy and there is not a shoulder or a bike lane. 

Large vehicles like RVs make it very unsafe to bike inside the park as there isn't much space for them to pass a bicyclist safely. 

What is included in the Bighorn mountain bike rentals?

Water, maps, and helmets are included in the rental. Water bottles and snacks can be purchased on site. 

What time are the rentals due back by?

The rental period for a day rental is between 9 AM and 5 PM. The bikes are due back by 5 pm.

Do you offer half day or hourly rentals?

No, bikes are only rented once a day to ensure a fresh, clean bike.

Do you offer multi-day rentals?

Yes, you can rent the bikes for up to 2 days. 

Can I take the bikes with me if I have a bike rack?

Yes, you can. You are free to take the bikes to ride any of the amazing trails that Moab has to offer. 

Please note that incorrectly transporting the bikes can cause damage to the bikes so please use a proper bike rack for transporting the bikes.
